Our team is growing as our customer base is expanding fast. We are looking to hire an enthusiastic lead to own and operationalize how payroll legislation is understood and applied across the US payroll and benefits team.

We want to hear from you if you have:

  • 10+ years of hands-on US payroll experience in a complex and multi-state environment

  • Proven track record of owning payroll processes or service delivery frameworks

  • Experience working in a fast-paced, scaling environment (SaaS and managed services preferred)

  • Expert understanding of payroll compliance, risk, and audit requirements

  • Comfortable working cross-functionally and influencing without direct authority

  • High ownership mindset with ability to operate autonomously

  • Experience supporting or working with integrated payroll solutions (e.g., HRIS + payroll platforms) preferred

The Payroll Services Delivery Lead (US) is a senior individual contributor role with cross function impact,, supporting the wider business through expert interpretation of payroll legislation across Product, Customer Experience (CX), Professional Services (PS), and Go-To-Market (GTM) teams. It is responsible for delivering specialist payroll expertise, ensuring compliance across Managed Services and Payroll Operations, and acting as a senior escalation point for complex legislative matters.


The role owns internal payroll legislation enablement in partnership with external providers, and acts as a thought leader across the organization—translating complex regulatory changes into clear, actionable guidance for both product development and customer-facing teams.


Acting as a bridge between legislation, client expectations, and technical implementation, this role ensures that payroll solutions are both compliant and practical in real-world application.


What you'll be doing
  • Drive the payroll advisory function, acting as the central authority on payroll legislation and its application across the business

  • Interpret and translate complex payroll legislation into clear, actionable guidance for Product, CX, PS, and GTM teams

  • Own and maintain internal payroll legislation frameworks, ensuring consistent understanding and application across all functions

  • Deliver scalable enablement (training, documentation, briefings) to upskill internal teams on payroll compliance and best practices

  • Partner closely with Product teams to embed payroll expertise into feature design, ensuring solutions are compliant and viable in real-world scenarios

  • Support Implementation and Professional Services teams with deep payroll expertise, incorporating user stories and practical use cases

  • Set the standards for Managed Services and Payroll Operations on compliance, edge cases, and exception handling

  • Act as the senior escalation point for complex, high-risk, or ambiguous payroll legislative matters

  • Define positions on grey areas in legislation, balancing compliance risk with practical business application

  • Collaborate with external partners and providers to align on legislative interpretation and ensure consistency

  • Act as a knowledge bridge between local legislation, customer expectations, and technical system capabilities

  • Advise clients and internal stakeholders on payroll best practices, including complex scenarios and non-standard cases

  • Proactively monitor legislative changes and assess their impact on product, services, and operations

  • Influence internal strategy and decision-making through thought leadership in payroll compliance and innovation

  • Contribute to building a best-in-class, compliant, and scalable payroll offering aligned to HiBob’s global standards

Base salaries for this role range from $110,000 - $142,000 per year.
