The Company
Canadian financial services company at the intersection of finance and technology. 1,000+ employees across Canada, working with most of the country's major financial institutions. Built on decades of expertise, now layering in proprietary tech and AI to modernize the industry.
The Role
Senior HR Business Partner embedded into one of their commercial divisions. Not an admin HR seat. This is a strategic partner role for someone who wants to build, coach senior leaders, and own core HR programs end-to-end.
The Context
You'd be partnering with two very different populations inside the same division.
On one side: high-performing commercial professionals, largely commission-based, operating in a relationship-driven, fast-moving culture. Big deals, real egos, people who like to move quickly.
On the other side: rigorous underwriters and servicing professionals (many CPAs and CFAs) who run a careful, risk-managed process where a single file can take months to authorize.
The job is to be credible with both. Hold the line on compliance and process with the sales side. Build trust and patience with the underwriting side. Don't pick a team or side, it's all the same team.
The division operates with meaningful independence from the parent company and has its own rhythm. You'll need to respect what's working while bringing and elevating rigor where it's needed.
