Position Summary
We seek an experienced HR consultant with director-level experience to serve as a bridge following the departure of our existing fractional HR resource. This role will focus on maintaining HR continuity, advancing key people initiatives already underway, and laying the groundwork for a successful transition to a permanent, full-time HR hire — expected within the next 6–9 months.
Key Responsibilities
HR Foundation & Culture Development

Drive macro HR culture developmentÂ

Establish foundational people practices appropriate for the organization’s current stage

Support leadership in building a cohesive, engaged workforce from early days
Systems & Compliance

Continue HRIS system implementation currently in progress

Ensure health & safety compliance requirements are met

Handle complex employee relations situations as they arise (e.g. terminations, WSIB claims)
People Programs

Build and launch performance management framework
-
Design and deliver Lunch & Learns program
Administrative HR Support (Phase 2 / Ongoing)

Standard contract modifications (names, job responsibilities)

Onboarding and offboarding processes
-
Vacation tracking and day-to-day HR administration
Transition Planning

Ensure seamless knowledge transfer from outgoing HR resource by June 15

Support hiring process for eventual full-time HR hire
Required Qualifications
-
7+ years progressive HR experience with demonstrated generalist breadth

Experience building HR functions in early-stage or high-growth organizations

Familiarity with HRIS implementation (experience with Employment Hero preferred)

Strong working knowledge of Ontario employment law and compliance requirements
-
Proven ability to handle sensitive employee relations matters (terminations, WSIB/workplace claims)

Comfortable operating across both strategic and administrative HR work
