Overview
The client is looking for an interim People Partner to provide continuity while it backfills a Senior People Partner role.
The consultant will focus on day-to-day People support across leaves and benefits, the performance cycle, onboarding and offboarding, and employee support.
This is an intermediate-level engagement suited to someone who can get up to speed quickly, manage ongoing work independently, and provide reliable support without being expected to take on significant strategic or executive-level decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
-
Leaves and benefits: Support ongoing leave and benefits administration and respond to related employee needs.
-
Performance cycle: Help keep performance-cycle activities moving during the transition period.
-
Onboarding and offboarding: Manage the People Operations steps associated with employee arrivals and departures.
-
Employee support: Serve as a reliable point of contact for routine employee questions and day-to-day People matters.
-
Continuity and escalation: Maintain coverage across these core responsibilities while the client recruits a permanent replacement, escalating matters that require internal leadership input.
What We’re Looking For
-
An intermediate-level HR or People Partner consultant who can contribute with minimal ramp-up
-
Based in Canada
-
Experience in the technology sector or a closely adjacent environment
-
Hands-on experience with leaves, benefits, performance processes, onboarding, offboarding, and employee support
-
Strong judgement and the ability to independently manage routine People matters while knowing when to escalate
-
Familiarity with Rippling is a plus
-
Comfort working across tools such as Google Workspace, Slack, and Notion
What Success Looks Like
The core responsibilities of the departing People Partner remain well covered during the transition, employees continue to receive timely and reliable support, and internal leadership has clear visibility into any matters requiring their involvement.
The engagement will begin at approximately 20 hours per week, with flexibility to adjust as the workload and needs become clearer.
